Shorlin, how could you dare say that this is mass produced? Everybody knows that Sleeman, the nations third largest brewer, is an artisinal producer. That big plant they have in Guelph is just for show, they really brew in the shed out back. It only TASTES mass-produced.

Dark amber/light brown with a thick tan head that fades to thin lace. Sweet caramel aroma, lightly nutty. Flavour is malty, with a hint of molasses and lightly toasty. Thin body. OK.

Brown to copper color with a big bubbled fluffy head. Nuts, pulp and mild nougat aromas. Thin and somewhat watery feel. Mild caramel mixed with cheap cocoa flavors. Ever had a second tier candy bar. It has all the same ingredients, and it tasted something like its should, but the feel and depth, the richness and the smoothness are not there...I think you get the point.

Nice brown ale with a light off-white head. Sweet caramel aroma without character. In mouth, nice sweet malt with lots of nuttyness, and decent hops . Light coffee notes, not bad overall. Medium bodied.

Skanky smell. Carbonation in place of haps, bothering the mouth. Some malt, a trace of fruit, and a mid-sip hint of toffee and chocolate. Bitterness bite. Better than warm water at the end of a summer day.

Draught. At the Charlotte Room. After my recent ehhh experience with their lager, this wasn’t too bad. Poured mostly clear darkish amber with a thin off-white head. Aroma very mild and sweet - sweet lightly roasted malt and a touch of leafy hops - mostly generic "dark" malt. Taste was very brackish and metallic, with artificially sweet darkish malt and an overriding taste of past-their-prime prunes - starts sweet, finishes sweet, not nice. Mouthfeel thin, metallic and harsh. Not bad, but Upper Canada isn’t what it was.
