Draught. At C’est What, shared with blankboy and tupalev. Poured pale clear amber with an average fairly lasting head. Sugary aroma of candy malt and metallic grainy hops. Taste is harshly sweet, bitter without any real hop character, really weak-ass with some sugary fake fruit on warming. Flat, watery, harsh and syrupy - a nasty excuse for a pale ale, even for mainstream Canada.

Highly carbonated ale, gold in its presence with fine creamy head on top. Rather sweet , light malt with thin hop character . Subdued bitterness , lacking refreshing qualities . Medium to light body . Bland.

Slightly golden yellow, small white head. Grainy with muted hops in the aroma. Flavour is grainy, some barely there hop bitterness. Quaffable stop up from the mainstream but not too challenging. Average palate.

Draught at C’est What, shared with HogTownHarry & tupalev. Pours a clear bubbly golden-orange with an average size white head. Mediocre aroma of grain, fruit, hops and some malt. Flavour, oh that’s no Pale Ale, that’s more of a generic sweet crappy Lager with a slightly metallic aftertaste. Bleargh. These guys are capable of so much more than this. Pitiful.

Fruit nose, with some malt and hops, deep amber, pours a tiny white head. Mild taste of candied malt, some hops there too. Light bodied, balanced, a bit sweet. Fair. I really wish I could say who shared this.

Draught at C’est What with hogtown harry and blankboy. Light orange, small bubbly head. Hardly any aroma, cold or as it warmed, maybe some grainy notes, but that’s it - certainly no hops. Citrus malt taste, syrupy yet thin. Lingering grain and corn. There is absolutely nothing to like in this beer - what a poor excuse from a formerly decent brewer. I can’t wait to try the red!

Draught at The Academy of Spherical Arts. Light, bright golden with a small white head. Fairly non-descript but not upleasant aroma of sweet malt and mild hops. Similar flavour - malt, hops, clean and boring. I had no problem drinking a pint of it, but by the time I got home (10 minute walk), I’d forgotten pretty much everything about it.

orange-golden body with a rather small bready head. Grass and toasted malt aroma with just the faintest hint of hops. A very boring example of the style, it probably shouldn’t even be considered an APA. Cookie malt flavour and very subtle hopping. Meh.
