Medium amber body with a moderate off white head. Muted aroma of malt. Flavour is sweetish caramel malt with moderate bitterness and a slight hoppy tang in the finish. Average palate. Meh. Quaffable but their dark is a better choice.

On tap at The Duke of Gloucester. This was so shit I didn’t even bother taking notes. Just complete garbage, how much lower can Upper Canada sink? Even worse than Rickard’s and Mick’s Red. Was barely able to drink it it was so bad. I got a Creemore after it and it was like I followed a Molson Kick with a Rochefort. You’ve been warned, drink at your own risk.

Tap at Mitzi’s Sister. Amber-mahogany colour with a thin reddish-mocha head. Nice aroma, fresh & fruity malt with a hint of grassy hops. Good mouthfeel. Flavour is pleasant and well balanced, with more of the fruity malt found in the aroma. Finish is a little weak, but all in all, I found this to be quite a bit better than I expected based on my past experience with mainstream red ales like Rickard’s and Micks.
