Pours a nice fiery copper color with an offwhite head. A malty nose with hints at grains and summer fruit. Easy aftertaste, also of malt. GregClow (2500), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Nice aroma, fresh & fruity malt with a hint of grassy hops. Good mouthfeel. Flavour is pleasant and well balanced, with more of the fruity malt found in the aroma. Finish is a little weak, but all in all, I found this to be quite a bit better than I expected based on my past experience with mainstream red ales like Rickard’s and Micks. Flavour is sweetish caramel malt with moderate bitterness and a slight hoppy tang in the finish. Average palate. Meh. Quaffable but their dark is a better choice. Poured deep clear copper with a small quickly gone white head. Sweet light roast aroma with grain - average, not nasty. Taste is sweet, grainy no hops to speak of, slightly vegetal and metallic - again, nothing awful. Mouthfeel flat and sticky - better than other recent UC’s but pretty bleh overall - pint went down with no real complaints, but my choice was sadly limited. robinvboyer (1443), Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, Canada
