| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 4, 2009 Pours a fairly dark bronze for a "pale" ale. Head is thin and short-lived, with negligible lacing. Nose is caramel and citrus. Taste starts out sweet and malty, then gives way to the hop bitterness. Alcohol is well hidden. Mouthfeel is pleasantly slick, with a nice long finish that is dominated by the hops, but lets a bit of the malt shine through. All in all a decent ale. DJMonarch (6845), Northwich, Cheshire, England

Hoppy aroma. Bronze coloured hoppy and smooth on the palate with a little bitterness and dryness in a crisp malt finish. sneagrams3 (1756), St. Louis, Missouri, USA

Finger width of pillowy clinging creamy head. Faint aromas. Medium bodied with a tart and tangy hop flaovr. Mild tingle. Nutty dark toast malt bill. Packed full of hops. Decent stuff. alagnak (356), Littleton, Colorado, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 12, 2009 12oz can. Aroma is pretty subdued - but some nice grassy hops and touches of sweetness, but occasionally a whiff of something metallic. Flavor is really stratightforward AIPA - big floral hoppiness dominates, light caramel malt occasionally shows up to balance. Slight bitterness to finish. ALl in all - a solid drinkable local IPA. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Nov 9, 2009 12 oz can. Pours a dark amber with a creamy off white head that retains well and laces the glass.
The aroma is caramel malts, a little mint and some grassy bitterness and some vegetal notes.
The flavor is sweet caramel malts and some fruits and mint with a decent grassy burnt bitterness in the finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with good carbonation.
Overall, an OK IPA. I didn’t much care for the flavors - lots of weird off notes. VitaminR (434), Colorado, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 9, 2009 Intense fresh hop and caramel nose, some strong grapefruit notes as well. Deep aged amber color, thick frothy head. Soft caramelized lavender petal sweetness, nice spicy bitter balance. Carbonation is big with tight bubbles, body is on the lighter side of medium, has a big floral bitter finish that tapers off into the deceptively high alcohol warmth. Nice beer, drinks really well, great to see an IPA that can deliver with so much finesse.
