Wonderful aroma releases notes of bourbon, oak, maple syrup, pineapple, vanilla, fuzzy fruit, caramel, mango and honey. Earthy, sweet flavor; light molasses, sour mash, oak and roasted malts. No balance; all alcohol and malty sweetness. Full-bodied and velvety with very light carbonation. Fruity, sweet, bourbony finish. I think this was a sample of Upstream’s new Bourbon Barrel Aged Barley wine, but will hold off until my new friends from Nebraska verify this! CaptainCougar (5458), Rockville, Maryland, USA

Aroma of huge viscous sweet sticky honey and caramel malt with a healthy dose of alcohol. Body starts with a big sticky sweet fruity caramel toffee flavor along with some complex dark fruits, vanilla, butterscotch and a smooth, thick malty palate. Has a sticky warming finish but hides the alcohol relatively well. BückDich (4847), McCall, Idaho, USA

Barrel Aged: Ruby color, light head and lacing. Nose of alcohol, huge sweetness, I think I’m getting the calories just smelling it. The flavor is sweet, "mellony", every kind of sugar and sweet thing ever is in here. Some floral hops. Creamy sweet finish. Low alcohol in the tail. Somewhat balanced. goldtwins (4080), Nesconset, New York, USA
