Pours a hazy orange with a small tight head. The aroma is spicy and fruity with some anise notes and a nice fresh hoppiness. Flavor is about the same description wise as the aroma perhaps a bit spicier and hoppier.

750 mL bottle at the Relentless Thirst Gathering in Richmond, VA, 8.29.09. Pours a copperish amber color with a thin head. Average head retention and lacing. Aroma is toffee with light citrus notes. Taste is toffee, caramel, bitter hops with a bit of citrus and raisin. Medium-full bodied.

Sampled at C&P Otown Throwdown, big thanks to Phillybeer2112! Pours a hazy light brown with little had. Huge malt profile and a spicy hop aroma. Taste is thick and sweet malt with huge bitter hop bite. Finishes a bit bitter, but a very good BW.

CPLYFO 09. Thanks to Phillybeer2112. Pours a hazy deep amber with a thin fizzy head with some streaked lacing. Aroma has a slight bit vegetal character to it upfront, some dms, hay straw, then some bigger caramel and toffee malts, cracker, and some breadiness, with phenolics and some high abv noticed. Sugary sweet flavor, beet sugar, earthiness, brown sugar, thins it out a bit, slight burnt taste, herbal and grassy hops and a light phenolic kick in the end.

Orlando throwdown. Redish caramel color. You can definitely tell there is alcohol in there. Nice dark fruits. wasn’t nearly as tough as some barleywines.

FRO Throwdown: Bottle courtesy beastiefan2k. Sherry caramel color. Sherry, plummy figgy flavors. Wood in the finish? Strong but pretty well balanced finish.

750ml botte sry23 from BA, thanks Scott. Shared with DuffManSW and not shared with mspindler. Orangish color with a white head. Sweet malty aroma, light hop presence. Very mild flavor compared to other BW’s, but still quite good, wish mspindler was here to try it.
