kitschy (197), Nebraska, USA Jul 5, 2009 A delicious specialty beer, tasted on tap over the lunch hour. I always love a ginger beer - or beer with ginger - and this Saison is brewed to please the ginger-lover. Aroma is much like the flavor - lemon and ginger. A crisp blend, well-hopped to support the flavors. Cloudy lemony yellow. theisti (1638), Leawood, Kansas, USA Jun 16, 2009 Draft pour at the brewpub in the Old Market, Omaha Nebraska. Pour is slight haze orange copper with a smallish off white head. Nice lacing as the beer falls. Aroma of the ginger, coriander, earth, yeast and wheat. Behind that is a straw grassiness that gives it an interesting edge. Flavor is big on the ginger, and that dominates the taste initially. As the mouth acclimates to the ginger, the additional spices and wheat take center stage, and eventually this is a pleasant, nicely spiced Saison. Palate is medium, a bit rough, and less dry than the Lemon Haze Saison I had. This beer was interesting, and was likely somewhere between a Wit and a Saison in the style wheel.
