Growler: Orange, gold, nice off-white head and lacing. Nose of floral hops, nice bouquet with a bit of earthy dirty, husky malts. The flavor is tangy, nice light bitterness and a distinct lack of dry-hopping. Decent.

Sep 1, 2006 RBSG DC 2006: Clear pale amber with a small, rocky, white head. The aroma is heavy grapefruit, pine, and fresh hop cones. Taste is very bitter, showing pine hops, dried lemon grass, hop resin, and mild grass. Medium bodied, moderately carbonated.

Jul 23, 2006 Clear, orange, sweaty hop oil nose, BO-like even. Texture is oily and slick, with a light, sharp tinny flavor, also plant-like. Decent, not great.

Jul 22, 2006 Growler at RBSG 2006. Amber bodied. Hoppy, citrusy nose. Taste brings out more hops and citrus fruits but is balanced a bit with some sweet malts and a touch of caramel. Body is medium with a moderate carbonation feel. Finishes with bigger fruit notes and lots of hops, but also sweet as well.

Jul 20, 2006 Growler at RBSG ’06. Was lucky enough to try 3 beers from this company. Unfortunately this was the one I really didn’t like. Clear golden color with a small white head. Floral, citrus hop aroma with some apricot in the background. Mildly bitter hop flavor that was quite dry with very little malt presence.

Jul 20, 2006 From growler, 2006 RBSG, provided by Sledge Jr (Thanks Todd!). Pours a clear dark gold under a small film of white head. Aroma is pretty aggressive with bright citric hops and some sweet bready malt. Flavor is not as bitter as I was expecting based on the nose, more of a floral hoppiness quality. Malt is there, but remains in the background. Mouthfeel is softly carbonated with an almost creamy mouthfeel. Overall, an enjoyable brew, somewhat unbalanced, but that’s OK by me sometimes.

Jul 19, 2006 RBSG06: Another hoppy IPA. However this was rather light for a IPA much less a double. I would of called this a APA. Pleasent, just weak on the hops.

Jul 17, 2006 Growler... RBSG2006... Hazy golden ale with a small, creamy, white head. Decent retention. Notes of white pepper, damp leather and pink grapefruit constitute the nose. Nice malt backbone balanced out with generous, but not heavy-handed, hopping. Full-bodied and silky with lively carbonation. Tart, tangy, lightly bitter finish. Well-balanced English style Imperial IPA.
