Jul 16, 2006 Growler - Clear bright orange with a small white ring of a head. The aroma is very light citrus and not much else. Flavor is pretty tame for an IIPA. Dry medium palate.

Jul 16, 2006 Beer #2 RBSG 06. Growler. Pale orange color, slight head. Pine hop aroma with some sweet caramel. Flavor was a straight match. Nice. Fairly light for the style, perhaps a bit simple, but likeable.

Jul 15, 2006 Pours a clear copper gold with a head that fades to a ring of foam. Smells a bit like sunscreen. There’s not the huge fresh hop blast in the aroma like most of the IIPAs I’ve had. The aroma’s quite boring actually. The flavor has a good hop bitterness in the finish and a nice rick pale ale maltiness, but this isn’t really all that distinctive.

May 13, 2006 Draft at Legacy location. Hazy, amber w/ nice tan head. Big citric hop aroma...just as it should be. Drinks w/ plenty of resin & citrus...Malt makes a passing impression, mainly through a slight underlying sweetness...hop flavors show some apricot & peach...bitterness not overwhelming, but does linger for awhile and make an imperssion. Good hop fix...not sure why they want to throw the Double IPA name on it though. If I were judging styles, this wouldn’t fit...

Apr 1, 2006 Very solid IPA for this brewery. Great orange color on the body. Good fruity hop zest on the nose. Very refreshing taste, good hop levels, decent bitterness. Not the best IPA ever made, but very respectable.

Nov 1, 2005 Not a double IPA, but a nice beer anyway. Just had a sample, but nice level of hoppiness and malt. I’d drink this regularly if I lived nearby.

Oct 8, 2005 09.30.05 GABF Orange gold with sticky white head. Juicy aromas of citrus, pine, orange flower. Big and biting bitterness from the get go. Tends away from balance and towards brashness for such a small beer (in a big style). Unfortunate diacetyl notes nag at the palate, amplified by a thin and slick feel. Hop showcase atop a mountain of empty sweetness.
