A hazy orange beer with a white head. The aroma is sweet malty with light notes of hops. The flavor is sweet with light notes of hops and grass, and towards the end light notes of grapefruit appears. Boring for a Double IPA.

(RBSG06, growler) White head atop golden body. Aroma is medium sweet, pine, some grapefruit. Taste is medium sweet, grapefruit/pine. Medium body with some resin. Lighter than your typical IIPA. (6/3/7/3/13)

(GABF05) Lightly hazed apple juice body with off-white head. Aroma is medium sweet, pine, grapefruit. Taste is moderately sweet, pine, grapefruit, some caramel, light buttery. Medium body, light resin. A decent IPA, but a bit weak as a Double IPA. (6/3/7/3/13)

Growler... RBSG2006... Hazy golden ale with a small, creamy, white head. Decent retention. Notes of white pepper, damp leather and pink grapefruit constitute the nose. Nice malt backbone balanced out with generous, but not heavy-handed, hopping. Full-bodied and silky with lively carbonation. Tart, tangy, lightly bitter finish. Well-balanced English style Imperial IPA.

Sampled on 7/15/06 at the RBSG ’06 Grand Tasting out of a growler courtesy of Sledge Jr: Pours a clear golden bronze with a thin-lacing wispy white head. Drier grainier earthy hoppy aroma is not very assertive for the style. Body starts fairly full and mildly sweet with some drier bittering hops, but not the bold hoppy character I’m used to in the style. Would make a decent IPA or APA though.

Clear, orange, sweaty hop oil nose, BO-like even. Texture is oily and slick, with a light, sharp tinny flavor, also plant-like. Decent, not great.

RBSG 2006 - DC Grand Tasting Lineup Growler: Orange, gold, nice off-white head and lacing. Nose of floral hops, nice bouquet with a bit of earthy dirty, husky malts. The flavor is tangy, nice light bitterness and a distinct lack of dry-hopping. Decent.

Draft sample at Upstream Old Market. Poured clear golden color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate malt and sour citrus hop aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met and I had a pint with my food..
