It is a excellent beer with a full body and a smooth flavor. Highly Recomended! Ty5592 (1015), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA

Not bad if you just want a mildly malty ale, but this puppy is no true scotch ale. It’s aroma is mildly malty, it’s flavor is mildly malty, (notice a pattern?) appearance is a nice red, comes with a small head that disappears quickly. It’s a decent brew, but there’s no way it’s what they say it is. jason (1624), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA

Flavor is rich malt, light hops. Sweet, mild and easy to drink. heemer77 (4311), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 7, 2008 usually, I am not a fan of this style, but enjoyed this version. The body was dark copper with a khaki colored head. The aroma was caramel with some peat and smoke. The taste was sweet peaches along with bread crust. There was also a little bit of earth in the finish. Gregis (1135), Shawnee, Kansas, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 9, 2008 On tap at the brewpub. Pours a cloudy bourbon brown with an off-white head that leaves patchy lace upon the glass. The nose is of peaty malt with a light fruitiness behind. On the light side of medium-bodied, the mouthfeel is silky smooth with a lightly dry finish. Sweet, peaty malt, leather and light toffee combine to create a pretty decent brew. Scotch ales are a hit-or-miss style for me, but this is one of the better "regular" brews in Upstream’s stable. boto (1345), Granby, Connecticut, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 16, 2003 Updated: Mar 15, 2005Draught: An interesting beer. It pours a dark copper color, that was a touch hazy. There was a light tan head that was fairly fluffy. It dissapated rather quickly. The aroma was fairly non-existent. If I sniffed way too hard I may have gotten a hint of peat with some maltiness. The taste was malty sweet, almost too sweet. There was almost nothing else discernable. There was no hops to this at all. It is good, but not complete. Re-rate: This was much better at a visit a few years later. It is more brown in color. The aroma is more pronounced with a slightly roasty sweet malt aroma. Nicely balanced malt sweet taste with some bitterness. Notes of roastiness and smokiness. Good. hopdog (5612), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA
