Decent hop character in this one, with a sweetart candy tinge at the finish. On cask, it highlights the citric character and brings out a more smooth body. This was the hands-down favorite "local beer" for me while I lived in Omaha. Guess in the end, it’s just an average or slightly above-average offering, but I could drink gallons of it, too. Sadly, none of these watered-down versions of craft brew style have any substance. Very light, some hop bitterness, poor head retention. All the trappings of a brewer who has been instructed to keep the beer light for the bud-drinking beautiful people. BBB63 (4238), La Porte, Indiana, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 14, 2003 Medium amber hue with very good head and lace. The aroma is very fruity (lemon, apple, grapefruit) with additional hints of buttery biscuit, aromatic hops, and leather yeast esters. The taste is a touch piney and grapefruity. A solid malt bakcground supports the acidic and bitter finish. Hints of sweet wood appears every once in a while. Lively and crsip mouthfeel. Good ESB, not fully tradional but not west coast style either, quaffable. bu11zeye (5545), Frisco, Texas, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 16, 2003 Updated: Mar 8, 2005Draught: The beer pours a slightly reddish color. Just a bit hazy. There was a good amount of an off-white head. The aroma is mostly of hops, mainly being citrusy and a hint of pine. Decent malty body and fairly well balanced taste with the hops. A hint of pine in the aftertaste.
They also have this offered as a cask ale. They serve it at the proper temperature. It is still a bit light on the hops for an ESB.
