I thought that this one was very decent, especially given the bland style it is in. Pleasant nuttiness as well as a refreshing finish.

Tap at the brewpub. The body was dark gold with a white head. The aroma was malty with a bit of bread. The taste was slightly bitter bread crust. There was also some potato skins. i actually thought that this was refreshing.

Draft sample at Upstream Old Market. Poured clear golden color with an average fizzy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate citrus hoppy aroma. Medium body and soft carbonation. Medium balanced flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Another average beer.

Deep maize color with a thin head and semi-active. Super sweet malt dominates here. Little to no bitterness to counteract it. For the Coors crowd.

GABF 05. Listed as O! Gold at the festival. Pours yellow with a strange bubblegum and banana aroma. Flavor is flat hops, and the watery palate doesn’t do anything to help.

Light and golden as a blonde should be, not quite enough in the head department. In every other respect, however, nothing from nothing is nothing, and this brew is extremely light on aroma, flavor, body, and finish. Depending on who you are, I suppose this could be good or bad. To me, the watery nature of the beer washes out the oats, hops and sharp smoky aromas and flavors that could have made this blonde really unique and dare I say, bold. Keep trying, brewmaster, but take note of the good beginning here. I’d drink it again just to see.
