iowaherkeye (1832), Bakersfield, California, USA Dec 23, 2007 On tap at the brewpub. Clear honey golden with a one finger eggshell head that fades rather quickly. Aroma of some grains, caramel light earthy hops and a hint of dry wood. Flavor has some caramel and grain with a biscuity finish with bitterness that peaks at a surprising 3-4 at the back and sides of the tongue. Moderate to high carbonation with a medium body. If I remember correctly, this was Upstream’s stab at Anchor Steam. Braudog (3733), Dayton, Ohio, USA Apr 10, 2005 Amber beer with a creamy white head. This served up a bitter-apple finish, tart over the top of a caramel-malt base. Good change-up choice. SledgeJr (2957), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Mar 23, 2005 On tap at the brewpub. This is a strange color for a lager: copper! Mine was served with a fine substantial white head. Aroma was mildly perfume-like with low hops and not too much of a characteristic lager scent. I liked the flavor as it was very pleasantly sweet with subtle berry-like suggestions. Pretty low in alcohol. boto (1319), Granby, Connecticut, USA Mar 8, 2005 Draught @ Brewery: This one pours a clear amber color. It had almost no head. The aroma was lighter, almost to the point of not having one. There were weak floral and malt notes. The taste was OK, but non-descript. Some malt sweetness with a hint of hops.
