Bitter alcoholic taste with a little sweetness. Not really very exciting to be honest. Disappointing. acearl (215), J-Town, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 19, 2008 Bottle courtesy of kiefdog. It poured a golden color with a slight white head. It smelled of apples, toffee, pepper, and slight brett. It tasted a lot like a saison with leanings toward tripelness. Lots of yeast and pepper and it had a bitter finish. Respectable beer. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 13, 2008 Bottle from utobeer. Aroma is very spicey and peppery, pale candy sugar with grassy hop, but buring alc is key. Taste is again big and bitter, peppery character is a main character. I just dont care for high alc triples anymore, the yeastyness and the peppery alc is soo been there done that. Borresteijn (1426), Amsterdam, Netherlands
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 11, 2008 Bottle @ home. Golden amber colour, big white head. Aroma is sweet, fruity and caramel, alcohol. Taste is yeast, sweet caramel, malts, very fruity. Slightly bitter alcohol finish. Tastes a lot softer, less carbonated and simply better than the old version of this brew.
