| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 8, 2008 Funny old dwarf on the label. Is this Doc or Doppy? Weird, but the beer wasn’t. Sweeter than I expected from a tripel but the yeast and bread eventually emerges as it warms, as well as some soft fruitiness that may also be out of place. Hoppier than than I expected as well. Not my favorite tripel ... sort of hard to classify it as a traditional Belgian tripel. But enjoyable. DYCSoccer17 (2195), Davis, California, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 6, 2008 750 mL bottle purchased at Corti Brothers in Sacramento. Aroma initially has some spicy and metallic hoppiness, which almost undertakes a lager-like character. Definite spiciness with some dusty yeast aromas present. Not overly appealing aroma. Mostly transparent blonde yellow body with a smallish bubbly white head. Fair lacing. Starts pretty spicy, peppery, and carbonated. A little acidic. Some sweet, bready malt flavors then become apparent towards the middle. Finishes with a bit of lingering dry yeast flavors and a light spicy hop kick. Slight ethanol character late. I don’t know. I am just not a huge fan of this beer. It is not bad, but definitely not worth the asking price. desurfer (1068), Pinellas Park, Florida, USA

Medium fruity crisp flavor with a medium balanced finish of moderate duration with a small alcohol bite. This is a good drinkable beer. DutchCrow (20), Alkmaar, Netherlands
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 3, 2008 Decent tripel. Funny old man on the cover. A bit bubbly. I like it a lot better when it’s in the glass for a couple of minutes., not straight out of the bottle. Refreshing, sweet, fruity, not very full-bodied, but also NOT watery at all. I enjoyed it a couple of times already.
