| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 13, 2005 750 mL bottle, corked & caged: clear, golden straw…bleached white head – strong and ever present; foamy. Banana nut bread aromatics with a dynamic yeast presence: hints of cloves right along side bitter hops and fresh mashed grain. Light fizz on the tongue, delivering a mushy banana effervescence along side a chalky, limestone-like component. Opens up significantly as it warms: loads more fruity, and the yeasty complexity really comes alive in the mouth. Though this didn’t turn my head around like some others, it was a perfect one to relax with on a rainy Sunday… TBone (6799), Pori, Finland

Hazy golden with enormous white lacy head. Tripel aroma with yeast, lemon, orange peel and banana. Citrusy, very carbonated mouthfeel. Alcohol is quite present but is not burning. Dry, hoppy aftertaste, warming alcoholic kick. This is a good example of Belgium triple - not maybe world class but .. a good example. beermatrix (1497), Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 9, 2005 Caged & corked 750ml - Color is a chill hazed dullish lemon yellow with a medium sized bright white cap of foam, subsides slowly to a nice creamy thick skim that keeps and keeps. Lacing sticks in minimal thick stringy globs.
Aroma is quite spicy with yeast and dry hop grasses, bits of phenols float about and a bit of a sharp citrus peels poke through. As it warms its all or nothing for the spicy phenol yeast though, whoa, way too much so, yet keeps a mellow citrusy backing.
Taste is some diluted and very tame citrus capped with a strong presense of yeast thats fizzy and lightly chalky. A bit rough and fizzy with some grassy hops drying out underneath the yeasty stuff which crosses into quite a bit of spice and late alcoholic burn. Which gets in the way of letting the sweeter reminants reach any surface, some of the lemon and touches of orange peels make it through as it warms which helps it out by a good margin. Ends dry with not much left but a bit of dry spice. In a word, yeasty, but mildly fruity with a citrus mellow edge.
Feel is a bit to fizzy and harsh, a little too raspy and yeasty, I like a triple to be smoother and more candyish then this yeast monster.
Even with its sharp carbonation it falls flat in most aspects and drys out far to quickly. Tends to full up some and mellow out as it warms but not enough for full enjoyment.
Its strong with a spicy dry heat that just kinda flops about for a bit then lingers like dust on the TV. Not very impressionable, but became much more plyable and fruity as it warmed, could possibly get better with a lot of aging? This is one to serve nearly room temp, its a beast of yeast just chilled.
