Complex, spicy flavor, but a little bit of funkiness which definitely detracts. Full bodied palate. Bit of a hit and miss beer. I prefer their Samaranth. topherh (940), Kearney, Missouri, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 26, 2009 Sampled at the Alexi TN distributor’s tasting; thanks Jim Bird! Clear golden pour with a fair white head just like the hop-it. Sweet, banana, and peppery spiciness in the flavor. Better than the hop-it, but still nothing amazing. islay (480), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 23, 2009 25.4 oz. bottle, consumed on 5-22-09. Appetizing, strong, clean, yeasty smell that is quite nice. Champagne, green grape, citrus, floral, and apple scents with a bit of salt. Pours a lightly hazy, pale to medium gold. Large amount of fluffy, nearly white head. Effervescent: A ton of bubbles in the liquid. Juicy taste with a tart finish. Yellow raisin, rich candy sweetness, and a cross between green and red grape juice in the flavor. Alcohol evident in the taste. Interesting pitted fruit aftertaste. Medium to full body. Frothy and cottony in the palate. Lively on the tongue. The mouthfeel is intriguing, but it makes it something of a challenge to drink. Medium to good overall. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 14, 2009 Bottle, Rehills, Newcastle. Pours with a large, white foaming head. Bottle was a wee bit unsettled, despite a good 6 weeks in the garage, so there was a bit of ’floatiness’. Soft, subtle citrus and coriander, as I would have expected. Despite the strength, it’s not a heavy beer and I think it could actually do with a bit more oomph! Still, not a bad brew...... Swalden28 (1531), McKinney, Texas, USA

Mouth feel is medium body with some fizzy carbonation. Overall, I enjoyed this...very good.
