Nice orange color with a lot of suspended "something". It smelled slightly earthy, tasted spicy at first and then maybe some fruit but not what I would consider truly hoppy. Interesting beer but I’m not sure the whole "belgian IPA" style really fits here. It tastes like a belgian and not and IPA so... Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 09-06-2008 06:06:26

330 ml bottle from Bieropholie, served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass. JA04/09.

App.: Lovely clear golden with a decent off-white foam. Aroma: Really sweet, lots of fruits including peaches, apples, pineapples, some berries, melons, a whole fruit salad, really; a little light caramel and vanilla, slightly peppery, leafy hops, a bit of yeast. Palate: Medium+ body, soft, almost silky effervescence. Flav.: Still sweet, and fruity, with an emphasis on the tropical fruits, lots of pineapple; some peppery hops, a little wood and a little cardboard maybe? lots of alcohol (too much); sweet with good bitterness and a lightly sweet, bready finish.

The nose doesn’t give away the great bitter kick. There is far too much alcohol for my liking, but an otherwise pleasant brew.

On tap at Novare Res. Pours a straw, golden color. It’s a hint of cloudy with a very nice foamy head. Aromas first hit you with grassy, fruity, ctirus hops. Take that bit into the beer and it packs a wonderful earth, sticky hopness that i’ve really grown to appreciate. The belgian IPAs are hoppy, it’s just a different type of hop than we use here, so it tastes different. Hides it’s alcohol SO WELL! This is a nice little beer.

Drank it from a bottle. Upon pouring, this really is a beautiful beer. Its cloudy but pours a beautiful golden color. It has a rich head, I still had a 1/4 inch on my final sips...oh so smooth. Beautiful lacing that cliings to the glass. Herbaceous, fruity aroma, lends itself to the hops. Flavor is very hoppy, notes of banana and more lemon than orange, pretty spicy. This beer is amazingly smooth considering its all hops and no malt. Finish is long and bitter. Overall, this is an impressive Belgian IPA.Hop-It wasn’t as extreme as most of the American IPA’s I’m used to however, it was incredibly smooth and elegant. I dig it!

Bottled: Fruity aroma, some yeast, notes of acid and sweetness, some alcohol. Light orange color, enormous head. Flavor is malty, light sweet with intensive alchol notes. Herbals hops. Herbal, light itchy hops. Long bitter, very dry finish. Well balanced brew.

Pours cloudy golden with some large chunks, big puffy beige two-finger head, good lasting lacing. Smells of hay, orange, banana and coriander. Medium body, lots of carbonation. Just a bit of bread and caramel with big bitter hop flavors kicking in right away: grapefruit and pine resin, a slight mineral edge. Nice bitter aftertaste with a little sweetness.

Good, but not as good as the price made me hope it would be. I was hoping for something special. This is above average, but if I could do it all over again I’d spend my ten bucks on a six-pack of IPA instead. I agree with stkune below -- Just not hoppy enough to justify the name.
