Aroma is fresh green apple, a mild sweetness, and a bit of hops. Flavor has a stronger floral hop presence along with biscuits and cloves. The combination of flavors doesn’t quite work and turns out slightly chalky, but despite that it remains reasonably enjoyable. Alcohol comes through a little, too. Nice solid carbonation. Pours Clear yellow golden with a huge white head and lots of floaties. Aroma mostly malts and a metallic hint. Not the hops I was expecting. As JoeinUccle said before me, citrus restrains. Alcohol well hidden. Sticky dry finish. bonfunck (149), Waasmunster, Belgium

The bitterness is a bit overall but that’s good when you like the hop flavour JoeinUccle (911), Brussels, Belgium
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 15, 2009 A sweet and alcoholic beer with decent hopbitterness, lacking in cohesion. Pours golden with fluffy white head. Smells very pils-malty with a metallic edge, restrained citrus. Sweet flavor with healthy dose of bitterness that rolls in late on lively carbonation. Finish defines bittersweet. A bit sticky. Substantially sweeter and boozier than I’d like, and lacking in hop aroma. mgermani (865), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 13, 2009 Pours a crystal clear dull yellow with a thick, creamy, lasting white head. Beautiful! Aroma is fairly typical for a blonde - that slightly funky fruity malting with oily fresh hops and present alcohol. Taste is not unexpected, then: fruity, sweet, present alcohol, nice earthy oily hops. Aftertaste reminds me of Benedictine - warm and herbal. Body is thick and creamy, delicious and amply carbonated. I’m not normally a fan of blonde ales, but this is exceptionally tasty! Many thanks to Boutip for the trade! hopheaven (85), Eureka, California, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 10, 2009 Can smell this one a mile away! Stunningly effervescent head looms like a cloud above a clear blonde body. Citrusy aroma with strong banana notes from the yeast. Hop presence is commanding; grassy, spicy, minty, piney... Flavors also of grapefruit, watermelon, candy sugar, bubblegum, and vanilla... The alcohol is masked very well, though some sweet malt sneaks through. Excellent body with a surprisingly dry, bitter finish. A very interesting beer... combines the sweet, delicious stylings of a Belgian Blonde with the decadent flavor of American-style overhopping, and is 9.5% abv to boot. Sten (289), Westerlo, Belgium

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 7, 2009 Bottle pours a slightly hazy, golden orange color with a dense foamy white blanket of a head. Aroma of hops, malt, pineapple, and spices. The flavor is quite hoppy with a very bitter, dry finish. The carbonation is quite active. The 9.5% is not completely hidden.
