750ml from Whole Foods, Durham. I’m a sucker for this style. A big boomin’ Belgian with superior lacing, a hefty yeasty body, and a pungent aroma combining earthy funk with intensely dry hops. There’s some spice in there, mild citrus rind, and a substantial bready heft in the middle. Not up to La Chouffe, but damn fine.

Hazy off orange/gold in color. Perfumy, yeasty, sweet aromas. Lots of sweetness with a nice bitterness from the hops. Slighty flowery and dry with a bit of spiciness. a fun beer

Pours a cloudy orange, big white rocky head. Nice lacings. Flavors are mostly spicy hop and a smooth yeast. Clean and yeasty with a slight sour finish--then something seems not quite right in the aftertaste. All in all, a good beer but not great.

750 ml bottle from Plaza Liquors - After a careful pour, a got a hazy light golden color with a one and a half finger thick white head which slowly fades. Light lacing. Has kind of an odd floral perfume aroma with a touch of yeast. Flavor is spicy hops, lightly sweetened malt, and esters. Medium to full body. Alcohol is somewhat hidden, but is noticeable. Has kind of an odd aftertaste. Can’t quite pin it down. Overall, a decent beer but, I was hoping for something like Houblon Dobbelen IPA . Now I have to finish the whole 750 myself.

Oh, Urthel. Is that how they say "foam" in the Netherlands? Slightly cloudy bright yellow beer. Huge white foam head. Smells like a Belgian ale and you know what those smell like... rich, alcoholic malt. Notes of wood and holy water in the aroma too, like a church pew or something. You know how those hymnals smell. Tastes like a Belgian ale with a bitter, pronounced pucker, hop finish. At least it has that saving grace. No, I am not facinated with Belgian beers. I’m am American.

Slight fruity aroma. Too malty for this beer to be called "Hop-It." I am not impressed with the Netherland version of a "hoppy beer." Now I know how the Europeans feel about Americans trying to brew European like beers. The head is very bubbly. The beer also has a very gold/peach color to it. The beer did not seem to be very thick when it poured, and it is very carbonated. Too fruity to be promoted as a hoppy beer. Tell you the truth this beer is okay. I am dumb founded. This flavoring hop is there, but the bittering and aroma hop are absent. A fruity and hoppy mix. The belgian part of the beer is great, and the hoppy part is subtle, but the hops seem a bit thrown in the mix type deal. I think the flavors are fine, but the idea is not developed enough for it to be as good as it should be. This beer is a Belgian beer with some hops thrown in the mix when it has no business being there.
