Pale orange color with a thick white head that stays along for quite a while and leaves plenty of lacings as it slowly settles. A rather mild smell with a malty note of wheat crackers, Belgian style yeast, dry earth and pleasant hop notes of grass, orange and lemon. Some phenols. The taste is sweet at first with light flavors of malts and bread crumbs. Some yeast and earthy hop aromas. Upon swallowing, the beer basically becomes a mess: unbalanced herbal bitterness, citric hop notes and medicinal phenols. The finish is basically just some bitterness and spices coupled with lots of sweet and almost burning alcohol. The taste of alcohol lingers on forever in the mouth, and in this case this is not a good ting. Moderate body, quite a lot of carbonation. Somewhat dry finish. This one didn’t fare well with me at all. It wasn’t very hoppy, at least not in terms of aromas and flavors. It’s just unbalanced with a horrible finish of bitterness and poorly integrated alcohol. Can’t really figure out what they were thinking when they brewed this one. Not recommended. Serving type: bottle (Copy of old Beer Advocate review)

Aroma: Sourish, almost white wine-like. Funky, apple peel and pear flesh – very fruity. Fresh hops, but not as protruding as expected. Spicy yeast, overall very Belgian. Slightly fiery and with vague hints of earht armagnac and black cherries.
Flavour: Sweet, profoundly malty, slightly roasted (off given its colour). Some hop bitterness is discernable, making it slightly more drinkable than the average superfruity belgian ale. Overall extremely fruity.
Appearance: Light yellow with a fine-bubbled white head. Slightly frothy but thin.
Palate: Fizzy, quite thick, as though there were pearjuice in it.

Bottle that I picked up at Bierkoning (I think), Amsterdam, Netherlands, consumed 01-11-09 Pours golden with a white head. This tastes great but there is plenty of sweetness. Good bitterness from the hops, nice burst of citrus, its lovely stuff and if it could be just tweaked with a little less sweetness and a little more bitterness this great beer would be verging on excellent. Great mix of a strong golden belgian, and a belgian IPA. Lots of yeasty fruitiness that goes great with some sharp spicy hops. Reminds me alot of the chouffe ipa. THis one seems a little hoppier though, either way, an outstanding beer, and i enjoyed it alot!

From the Bottle at the Roundhouse, Barrow Hill 16/05/2009 Hoppy aroma. Some carbonation. Golden coloured hoppy and a little sweet on the palate with a honey flavour. Hint of dryness in a crisp and bitter finish.

Bottle. Cloudy gold pour with a big off-white head. Nose of Belgian yeast, grassy hops and sweet malt. Malty flavor up front with some banana yeasty character before a bitter hop finish.

HAzy with visible particles pale golden color, big fluffy white head. Fresh, spicy, lactic, malty, alcohol scent. Spicy, acidic, bitter, fruity, sweet, phenolic, alchool taste. Phenolic and alcohol aftertaste. MEdium mouthfeel, medium bitterness. Alcohol is way too evident all over the place in this one, with clear notes of alcohol in scent, taste and aftertaste, as well as with a warming gut feeling. Hits the old head after only half a small glass too. Not for me, needs to show less alcohol character. Also not very hoppy as suggested bu the name and description.
