Tap at Hop Leaf. Poured a clear gold with a full white head. Beautiful aroma with sweet banana notes as well as apples and underlying hops. Started like a pilsner with some hops and finishes bitter.

Picking out some good hops, controlled dense pale-fruit sweetness, yeast and a bar hint of funk. Spice and present alcohol. Orange and hazy with very pale tan head. One-notish and slightly boring drinking it solo but might be magical with aromatic cheeses or even belgian mussels with frites.

bottle. golden orange pour with a big fluffy off-white head and tons of sudsy stick. yeast, apple and spice in the aroma. smooth creamy texture. tastes of coriander, clove, hop bitterness and an astringent salty bite to it. dry tingly finish. interesting for sure, but not to my taste.

On tap. Extremely grassy beer and completely ridiculous alcohol content. Very smooth, I could not even taste any hint of alcohol in this potent beer, but after finishing I could certainly feel that it was more than your average beer. Hoppiness does not compare to extreme IPA’s, but is nice. The only "unbalancing" factor is the alcohol content which dictates that you should not drink more than one or two of these!

Hazed orange pour and foamy white head. Citrus and caramel aroma as well as Belgian yeast/wheat. Wheat and citrus taste goes down smooth and easy for 9.5%. Some bitterness on the finish.

Quite lively with a column of carbonation streaming upwards through a well-hazed amber body to support a full and creamy white head. Continental hopping is a fun complement to this beers prominent aroma of yeastiness... light herbs and green woodsiness to caramel-sweetened cheesiness. Hops are by no means abrupt in the flavor, adding instead a fresh herbal essence to a graham-cracker-sweetened and alcohol-peppered yeastiness. Fluffy mouthfeel, full and creamy, with a mild cloy. Impressive. This beer has an odd mix of flavors which work quite well together. ~~~~~~~~ Bottle Code 23CF, purchased May 2007, Corkscrew, Urbana, IL, consumed June 2009.

Yeasty murky orange yellowish body with a humongus white pillowy head. Saaz hops (I think) with a fruity apricot and citrus aroma. Full flavored, some peppery notes. This is a style combination I really enjoy. Really nice stuff here. I’d like to see how this stacks up against the Chouffe example. Only detractor is a slight medicinal flavor, but I can get past that.
