Bottled. Clear deep golden colour. Metal, roses, almond paste in aroma. Really lacking in hop aroma considering the label that promises a hoppy beer. Bit too much of alcohol in aroma also, not the pleasant one. Hm, it’s very Belgian with the phenols and all but really unrefined. Alcohol feel is overwhelming. Not much hops here. The classic Triple almond paste again, along with caramelly features. Pretty dry beer. Nope, this was far from good.

Yellow coloured and clear. Has a white head, mostly lasting. Sweet notes in the aroma, yeasty, pepper, spice. Flavor starts moderate bitter and finish with a nice pure heavy bitterness. Dry texture.

Pours orange with thick white head. Aroma of Belgian yeast and hops. Odd nose to it. Taste of light hops with typical Belgian IPA flavor. Just OK.

Pours hazy slightly amber gold with a huge off white head. Aroma is light and tropical fruits with hints of lemon and a bit of spiciness. Flavor is lots of light malt with a little bit of warming and a spicy bitter earthy hop flavor, pretty good stuff.

On tap at St. Veronus. Orange gold with a very nice white head. Smells and tastes like a hopped up Belgian ale. Similar, but not quite as good as, Hopsinjoor and Chouffe Houblon. Still a very nice beer.

bottle @ Brugsch beertje. Nice golden colour with lacing white head. The head stays stable but they serve it in a - for my opinion - strange glass. Yeasty and hoppy smell. Taste: sweet, fruity and bitter. Very nice beer in the beginning. But after some gulps I’ve had enough from it. Just too bitter, like you’re eating a dandelion.

Pours with a big nice foam over a pale golden ale. Rich belgian yeast aroma. Sweet taste with a sharp bitterness and unbalanced taste.

medium gold pour with a thick pillowy white head. Aroma is fruity yeasty tones with a cracker like maltiness. Hint of alc as well as an earthy hoppy background. Flavour is belgian sweet and spicy maltiness. Some fruity/herbal/light citrus hop going on. Though it definitely takes a back seat to the fruity sweet belgian profile.

Pale orange color with a thick white head that stays along for quite a while and leaves plenty of lacings as it slowly settles. A rather mild smell with a malty note of wheat crackers, Belgian style yeast, dry earth and pleasant hop notes of grass, orange and lemon. Some phenols. The taste is sweet at first with light flavors of malts and bread crumbs. Some yeast and earthy hop aromas. Upon swallowing, the beer basically becomes a mess: unbalanced herbal bitterness, citric hop notes and medicinal phenols. The finish is basically just some bitterness and spices coupled with lots of sweet and almost burning alcohol. The taste of alcohol lingers on forever in the mouth, and in this case this is not a good ting. Moderate body, quite a lot of carbonation. Somewhat dry finish. This one didn’t fare well with me at all. It wasn’t very hoppy, at least not in terms of aromas and flavors. It’s just unbalanced with a horrible finish of bitterness and poorly integrated alcohol. Can’t really figure out what they were thinking when they brewed this one. Not recommended. Serving type: bottle (Copy of old Beer Advocate review)
