Dark brown opaque pour with a huge rocky tan head and thick creamy lacing. Aroma of caramel and fruits. Rich malty taste with subtle notes of plum and grape. Slight tangy bitterness as well that lingers to form the finish.

11.2oz bottle. Poured medium ambery-brown with a creamy cap of beige head. The aroma picked up candied caramel, nutty notes, and raisins with a very distinct yeast impression.. vanilla and earthy spices on the back. The flavor was very much in the sweet department with aged caramel and raisins providing the most character.. bitterness was light and earthy, while the yeasty notes were brighter and spicy.. finished warm, spicy, and a little sour. Medium-ish bodied with lively carbonation on the palate.. balance was OK, but it was too strong and a bit abrasive at the finish. Decent stuff.

Nice enough. Dark reddish brown slightly hazy, small dark head. Nose of dark roasted malts. Flavor of dark roasted malts with little discernible hopping. I always get notes of chocolate and coffee from dark roasted malts, and this is no exception. A kid brother of a German double like a Celebrator, easy to drink, enjoyable but unremarkable.

Bottle from the Bottle Barn, Santa Rosa. Brown with a fluffy tan head. Malty bready aroma with some citrus notes. Bread and mild grain dominate the taste with some tangy notes through out. Decent.

Bottle @ Publick House, Brookline, MA. Pours a reddish-amber with a light, tan head. Aroma is phenolic with caramel malt and dark fruit detectable as well. Taste is caramel malt and sweet notes with dark fruit characteristics at the end. Beer is relatively smooth, and not bad overall.

I must have gotten a bad batch or a leaky bottle, because mine poured dark with absolutely zero head or carbonation. THe bockish notes were there, but this wasn’t a cask ale so it was pretty much shit, to put it nicely. A couple of sips then threw it out.

33 cL bottle at ’t Arendsnest. Pours clear and golden deep amber to redish with a slowly collapsing light tan head. Phenolic and dry to roasted malt aroma. Slight oxidised impression. Dry, roasted malt and slight metallic to oxidised touch. Light yeasty note too. Subdued yeasty and fruity note.
