| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 9, 2009 Pours a darker clear caramel color with a medium sudsy bubbly beige head that settles into a fine small uniform froth. Really uninteresting aroma for a quad, sugary caramel, one-dimensional, condensed milk, faintly doughy and fruity. Surprise! the flavor is just as uninteresting, straightforward, medium sweet caramel, condensed milk, odd bitterness, a bit of alcohol but doesn’t show the full 12%, lightly nutty, dryer finish. Medium body, chalky, sticky, softer bigger carbonation. I have a 750 bottle I’ve been aging a few years, I assume that’ll be a bit tastier. JoeinUccle (911), Brussels, Belgium
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 7, 2009 33 cL bottle. Looks brown but it’s actually very, very red. And surprisingly clear. Is this thing filtered? Or just not bottle filtered? Very enticing aroma with red fruits like raspberry and some dark ones, like fig. Also some caramel tootsie roll and rum. Sweet flavor with only light bitterness, warming and boozy. Drinkable, for what it is. Sticky and thin of body. Meh. Grovlam (3810), Copenhagen, Denmark

[Trade with hopscotch and the Florida Crew, thanks buddy] Large creamy head that mostly lasted. good display of laceworke. light cloudy amber colour. Aroma of prunes, dates, very vinous and almost like good sherry with a solid amount of alcohol. Over the palate came yeat, heavy frute and a solid base of malt. quite full bodied with an average carbonation and thick trxture. Heavy sweet flavour with a hint of bitterness. lingering warming fruity raisins finish. Red currant lingers on the tongue, rowan and lingonberries. A bit of smacking with the tongue reveals the usual marzipan. The warmth of the alcohol penetrates the sweetness of the ale. krysztofar (344), belleville, Illinois, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 3, 2009 11.2. coppery auburn color. pours with a moderate amount of carbonation and a fluffy well formed off white head. rich malty nose. hints of ester and some clove/banana. also notes of toffee and brittle candy stand out as does a tinge of alcohol. hearty body that remains clean. toasty brown sugar is balanced by spicy esters. lots of caramel and hazelnut liquor. it does leave a little bit of thick stickiness on the tongue, but a good beer over all. tomthompson89 (1489), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
