Jul 1, 2008 Bottle. Nice head with good duration. Color is dark amber. Aroma and taste are sugary sweet, fruits, alcohol and malt. Quite sweet.

Jun 28, 2008 Pour is a dark red with a small tan head. Aroma is a very nice dark fruit with a ton of brown sugar. Flavor is again lots of brown sugar with some molasses and a decent yeast, Alcohol does show itself as this goes down with a very thick and chewy swallow. It may take you an hour to get this down but it is very tasty.

Jun 22, 2008 750ml caged and corked bottle from The Lighthouse in Manchester. Pours a hazy brown-red body with a thin light tan head. Smells fruity - grapes, plums, and apples most noticeable, with a generous dose of brown sugar and caramel. Tastes very fruity as well, with apple and plum like qualities, along with a generous dose of caramel and toffee... Just a hint of alcohol toward the finish, with a fair bit of alcohol warming apparent. Heavy bordering on viscous body with light carbonation. A sipper for certain, but the pleasing combination of flavors helps the drinkability some. All-in-all a solid tasty quad, no more, no less.

Jun 16, 2008 On tap at PP Carlsbad. Weird, this is the first quadrupel I’ve seen that is yellow-gold. Sticky white lacing, but rather thin signs of head. I’ve said it so many times now, the Port needs to step it up and use proper glassware for such beers. Big fruity clove aroma with orange and banana creme. Sweet raisin and pear flavor with little bitterness bite in the finish. Thick bodied and with a bit of alcohol burn in the throat.

Jun 15, 2008 amber red/brass color with med white head. aroma is very malty, dark fruit, plum maybe? flavor is very fruity, from pineapple to raisin. slight burbon flavor in the finish. very tasty.

Jun 7, 2008 Tried at PP on tap. Said both 9.5% and 12% on the sign. Well, I guess that averages out to the 11@ that RB lists. Cloudy yellow amber color. Very Belgian with some banana aroma. Strong. You can notice the ABV, but it is still drinkable, I mean sippable. Lots of great lacing. Heavy body. I was expecting a dark color for a quad, but this was much lighter. Triplesque in color. Low bitterness and leans sweet. Nice.
