Flaske. Sød, alt for sød på en en dimensionel og kedelig måde. Det er åbenbart Koningshovens varemærke at tage en belgisk øl og gøre den for sød. Ærgeligt men ikke meget andet at sige.

Sweet, nutty, warming. Too sweet, probably, but it has a nice full body. Burned sugar. Vinous, fine for a rainy evening.

Aroma: apricot, malt and creamy notes. Appearance: amber heading to brown just hazy, tan head with sheet lacing. Flavour: creamy apricot, spiritous and massively malty sweet with butterscotch esters as well as some medicinal notes. Palate: massively thick, finishes sweet and leaves some hoppy finish.

750ml bottle-pours a foamy retaining off white head and cloudy amber color. Aroma is caramelized sweet grain, secondary spiciness, yeast-banana, pineapple. Taste is caramelized sweet grain-a bit syrupy, spices come through on taste much more than smell, yeast-banana/pineapple, some oak/woodiness, alcohol. Nice, good carbonation. Sipping. Thanks jwc215 for sharing.

1 year old bottle, if that makes a difference, 11.5%. Pours a tan-copper with a medium sized lasting white head. Aroma of honey, white chocolate, cinnemon, hay, something funky and saison-like kinda like a Chaumes cheese, raisins. Tastes of honey, raisins, vanilla, hay/grass, funky cheese-like yeast (in a good way) and then starts drying out. Finishes with some sourdough bread, a bit of pungent yeast flavor, and a nice earthy hop flavor that carries to the aftertaste. Also some lingering bitter honey flavor in the aftertaste. Fairly high carbonation, but lower than some Belgians, medium bodied, and quite boozy in heat and a little bit in flavor. This is a pretty nice sweet Belgian Quad. I had a sample of this on draft and it was dominated by a bitter pear flavor, which is thankfully absent from this bottle.

From 11.2 oz bottle- Poured with moderate carbonation, nontransparent murky copper amber, very nice lacing head. Aroma of fruit and malt, very appealing. Hits the mouth with a sour note, thin body, sweetness on the finish. One that is to b e sipped, not slammed... and not bad!

(Bottle) Pours copper-ish amber. Sweet and fruity aroma with complex esters and some candied tones in the background. Ripe apples, pears, grapes, raisins and more exotic notes of pineapple, mango and citrus peel are also present. Subtle spices, mostly anise and a good deal of peppery and polish like alcohol. Some cookies, nuts and almond-ish malt along some honey tones. Malt, fruit and yeast in the flavour with notes of alcohol and anise seeds. Honey and nuts in the flavour as well. Light to medium sweet. Soft and round mouthfeel but with an unpleasant alcohol bitter finish. Alcohol and anise lingers. Medium to full bodied. This beer is quite interesting but suffering from a notable lack of depth flavour wise.
