There is a sweetness and unfortunately a predominating aroma of alcohol. Some yeast and malt as well. Alcohol is the predominant taste and is what you are left with after swallowing. Caramel and sugary sweetness are there too. Rockinout (946), Kent, Ohio, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 14, 2007 750ml bottle. Deep golden orange color, tight bubbles in the head, soft on the palate. Yeast, honey, black pepper, and maybe coriander present. Alcohol more apparent as it warms. GreatLibations (1447), Last Supper, Arizona, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jan 13, 2007 Updated: Feb 8, 2007Pours a dingy copper color w/ a full, semi creamy froth that slowly recedes to a perfect dense caonpy and lacing that sticks to the walls. Beautiful! Aromas of heavily malted rock candy w/ a slight tartness. Very Belgian. Full nectar w/ mellow residual effers that create a soft fiberous cotton like texture. This is a big brew. The sweetness componant is high and so is the residual alcohol flavor. Very warming w/ flavors of malted rock candy, banana spice, bubble gum, glazed caramel, cherry cough drop. A generous brew w/ very strong flavors. As it warms flavors of tropical/buttery Chardonnay appear. Finish leaves a harsh feeling in my throat and is bittered w/ peach pit. Overall: it’s strong, sweet, and alcoholic. Let it age some, say 20 years or so. Very complex. This is another example of how ales are coming very close to wine in flavor profiles. bb (2930), Martinez, California, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jan 4, 2007 In the 330 mL bottle from Beetopia. Outstanding. Dark amber with a large off-white head. Aroma of strong caramel apples. Flavors are huge of malty raisin pudding and cotton candy. Thick, thick palate and dense mouthfeel. Big alcohol at first burns your insides, but as you acclimate, you need even more. Great beer. Nate (2562), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 31, 2006 Nice mellow sweet malt aroma. Belgian estery yeastiness and some bubblegum. Alcohol vapors, orange peel and a bit of coriander. Medium dark amber clear with creamy off-white lacing head. Medium watery body with smooth yet effervescent carbonation. Starts very sweet with creamy maltiness, honey, orange peels, coriander. Estery bubblegum with big vapos and alcohol warming. Almost cloying, however. Very little bitterness. Leaves you with a sweet honey-grain after. A bit too sweet for my tastes. Jukkabro (3039), Tampere, Finland
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 27, 2006 Dark coppery colored, cloudy appearance with big white head. Strongly spicy and chocolaty aroma with burned-syrupy touch, multidimensional aroma indeed. Medium to full bodied. Flavor is also rich with sweet, nutty and chocolaty tones, spices last in aftertaste with sweetness. GRM (1283), Aylmer, Quebec, Canada
