| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 28, 2006 Draught at Old Capitol Brew Works & Public House in Iowa City, IA. Hazy golden brown color with a thick creamy off white head that laced the side of the wide mouthed Belgian glass it was served in. Attractive aroma of cotton candy, flowery hops, green apple, and pineapple. Sweet and sticky palate, smooth and full bodied. Tasted of apple, malty caramel, and flowery hops with a warm splash of alcohol at the end. It tasted less like alcohol than I would have expected at 11.5%. Delicious. Warm flavors of banana bread and apple crisp. Alcohol shouts a loud hello in the finish. SudsMcDuff (1695), was CapeTown,SA-now Houston, Texas, USA

Poured hazy copper color with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate spicy malty aroma. Medium body with a slick texture. Potent sugar cane aroma with some spiciness. sweet flavours, good fruitiness, present alc, almost rummy. Fizzy and full-bodied. A barley wine that has yet to reach some more complexity. wineandbrew (40), Steilacoom, Washington, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 1, 2006 Bought @ Steilacoom Wine and Brew. On tap. This beer is a classic! I am suprised at the low score? I think this quad is much lighter and more balanced between the dry and sweet than most. The candied sugars are lighter and the flavors are more subtle, but this brewery can flex its muscles without many knowing that this bad boy is 11.5%. A wonderful beer!
