The color was off for the style, rather light... more amber orange than brown. The aroma was really strongly of honey and alcohol. Man, the honey was strong in this one (a new thing for this style). The flavor was full of caramel malts (ick, again, I don’t like THIS in the style). The rest of the flavor was honey, some alcohol, even some grassiness. There was a doughiness to the finishing flavors. The mouthfeel was light for the style. If you’re looking for something that pushes the boundaries of the style (and / or uniqueness), then go for it. If you want a true quad, then skip over this one.

Amber coloured with a large off-white head and some carbonation. Deep sweet yeasty aroma, fruity with a very clear and heavy alcoholic nose. Full and almost creamy body, sweet with a clear touch of alcohol. Finish is light bitter-sweet, again that grainy alcohol. A very nice but specially a heavy one.

Bottle 49F Trappist Glass. Aroma is very nice and warm, with lots of yeast, grains very bready like smelling freshly ground grains very delicious. Dark golden cloudy colors with accents of red. Reminiscent of a summer sunset. Light white head, that is both frothy and tight, wonderful array of bubbles, nice lacing. Very large taste, very bready, with quite noticible alcohol, no hops or citrus notes to speak of . But the taste is much darker than the appearance fortells. Finishes quite bitter. Decent amount of mouth feel, but still a very noticible warming from the alcohol. Not as tightly carbonated as i would have expected. The alcohol presence is very noticible and I believe it detracts for the beer itself. Not a bad beer, but when aiming for such a big finish the brewers should ensure their is enough of a earlier act to ponder.

On tap. Caramel/amber with soft white head. Aroma: grapes (?) and alcohol---but doesn’t smell like wine. Flavor is strong---I can’t really get over the strong alcohol taste. This is the beer that I usually get at the end of Happy Hour because it does the job quick ;) Can’t say I’m terribly thrilled about it though.

750ml bottle. Dark orange with a thick white head. Aroma of fruit, malt, and yeast. Sweet taste, yeasty, alcohol present, underlying wild berry flavor. Palate a bit thick. Not much finish, sweet and alcoholic.

(Bottle) Pours reddish golden with stable white head. Sweet delicious beer, with dominant fruity notes (tropical fruits/apples/citrus), alcohol, sweet malts & some spices. Well balanced, and very very nice overall. A real winter warmer!!
