| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 9, 2003 Pours a hazy gold with nice frothy white head. Upon opening the cork shot off by itself. Nose is hoppy and yeasty with some alcohol. Nice fruity flavor, a little yeasty, with lots of carbonation. Slightly alcoholic finish. A pretty good belgian. happy4hops (369), Bel Air, Maryland, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 1, 2003 I finally picked this one up today, for the label art, but mainly because I am trying to get more of an appreciation for Belgians. It was not anything close to what I was expecting, but nonetheless, quite hearty and full of taste. Quite yeasty, doughy, with a sweetbread taste, full of spices, cinnamon, clove and corriander. With a slightly carbonated full-flavored alchohol burn in the aftertaste. Fullfilling and modest, this one never overdoes it. redlem (1155), Illinois, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 22, 2003 Bottle. Transparent amber, HUGE head. Pungent, sour Belgian triple type of smell, well-representative of the style. Very citric - all kinds of fruits! Lemon, pear, apple, spiciness. This follows into the flavor, with lemon becoming more prominent toward the finish. Well-done. beermatrix (1497), Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 15, 2003 Came in a strange little three pack and has a cartoonish big-eyed gnome on the lable, whats that about? The color is amberish yellow with one heck of fluffy head with staying power that wouldn't quit the whole way through. The smell of this is amazing, its all over the place, with lemon, melon, pear, and apple, with clove and spicy hop notes. Its a tropical delight to smell. The taste is good, its lightly lemony tart and smooth with a dry spicyness and hints of tropical fruits, melon, pear, apple, raisin, that starts with a tangy malt and leads to the tropics then to the alcoholic dry finish. But nothing is overwhelming about it, its very soft and subtle in its approach. It seemed a little much in some regards, it reminded me of a fruit schnapps. Its a soft and subtle, lemony, drinkable delight.
