Commercial Description:
Cask; Seasonal - Autumn.
After Ushers closed their brewery in 2000 (but continued as a pub company, renamed to Innspired Pubs), the beer brands were taken on by Refresh UK and contract brewed at several locations, including Thomas Hardy and Wadworths. The Ushers seasonal brands are currently (late 2005) made at Wychwood.
Brewed with English Crystal Rye for a rich mellow wholemeal biscuit flavour.

Cask Conditioned at The Red Lion, Cropredy. Dark Amber beer with rich white head. This is a thick malty beer with a sugary biscuit base and a hint of fungus. Some dark forest fruit notes and a little bitterness, but overall very moderate.

Cask Conditioned, at the Crosse Keys, London.
Clouded reddish amber hue. Mild biscuity malt aroma. Sweet shortbread malty palate, moderate fruitiness, very little finish.

Cask Conditioned, at the Crosse Keys, London.
Rich amber colour body, slightly hazy. Old malts soaked in stagnant pond water. Um...not a favourite.

Cask conditioned @ Oktoberfest, JD Wetherspoons, High Wycombe. Not go good. A little sweet, a little fruity & some bitterness but tasted perhaps like it’s towards the end of it’s life. I Didn’t finish this one.
