Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular.
NOTE: This is the cask version. Also available in 440ml pasteurised cans, which have a separate listing.
After Ushers closed their brewery in 2000 (but continued as a pub company, renamed to Innspired Pubs), the beer brands were taken on by Refresh UK and contract brewed at several locations, including Thomas Hardy and Wadworths. From Summer 2004 this beer and the packaged beers have been brewed at Wadworth.
Easy drinking and thirst quenching, Best Bitter is particularly popular in the West Country. 'The Best Of The West'. Slightly floral hop with a malty taste and moderate bitterness make for easy drinking.

Cask conditioned @ Milburys, Beauworth. Musty yeast, nail varnish and caramel malt aromas. Thin with crude earthy bitterness. Drinkable despite the obvious flaws.

Cask Conditioned at The Upton Muggery, Upton on Severn, Worcs. Brown red colour with thin head. This is a boiled malt concoction with a cabbagy hop, few redeeming characters. It is drinkable however. Do Ushers care that Burtonwood make such a mess of this one?

Not great in appearance. Medium bitter flavour, pleasent aftertase.
