Jan 19, 2001 Ushers makes this now? Damn English brewing consolidation, hard for us over here to keep track of this stuff. Anyway, great malty old ale - robust, good development of earthy, lightly chewy malt flavours.

Jul 22, 2002 Amber colour. Very nice hop aroma, herbal. Some sweetness, light malt; good hopping, but spoiled by a metallic sensation. The palate doesn’t keep what the aroma promises.

Jul 16, 2003 Bottled, Pasteurised. An amber beer with light fluffy head. This is the 5.5% version which has a slightly tart malty start, a little sweetness and a pungent alcohol nose. Fair hop balance, good citric flavours. A pleasant drinkable beer.

Aug 6, 2004 Bottled: Amber coloured. Thin off white head. Hoppy and light fruity aroma. Buttery, watery flavour with som light hopsnotes. Is thin bodied with light bitterness in the end.
