Nectarous. Cherry aftertaste. Syrupy aroma, even some smokiness. This is one of the best ales I've had on bottle, but it's a bit too sickeningly sweet to drink a whole bottle.

A ruby beer wiht a good head. The aroma is sharp with notes of fruit. The flavor is flat, bitter, fruity, and slightly sweet.

Dark amber color. Malty aroma with licorice. Hopbitter flavor with licorice, blackcurrant and pear. Well balanced ale with a good body.

The first time I tasted this ale it was like a new chapter in my beerdrinking: so full of malt and hops was hard to find where i live in those days. But beware: there is an Ushers white ale and an Ushers ruby ale too, but they don´t play in the same league.

An English Strong Ale made with great efforts regarding to the quality of malt and hops. Already in the nose you can feel the complexity of this dark amber beverage, made for gods ! NB I don´t work at the brewery. When this fullbodied ale hits your tongue and palate with full impact, you are a fan ! All the bitterness of Englands best hopfields, concentrated in one bottle.

1998 Vintage. Fruit, caramel and roasted malt aroma. Copper, with a large toffee head, continuous stream of bubbles like a sparkling wine, and pleasing lace. Robust nutty flavour, combined with malt, almonds, earthy too. Very much like a port, except for it's wonderfully bitter aftertaste. A terrific choice for #600! Thanks Michael of Chester's Beers Of The World.

Dark amber color. Malt aroma, with sweet and fruity light notes; then some good hop; herbal, and some yeast. Malt, caramel, light liquorice; unimpressive; rather dry, average body. quite long palate, not enough aromatic.

Sweet and nutty. Malty bitterness in the finish. A bit thin.
