An English Strong Ale made with great efforts regarding to the quality of malt and hops. Already in the nose you can feel the complexity of this dark amber beverage, made for gods ! NB I don´t work at the brewery. When this fullbodied ale hits your tongue and palate with full impact, you are a fan ! All the bitterness of Englands best hopfields, concentrated in one bottle.

The first time I tasted this ale it was like a new chapter in my beerdrinking: so full of malt and hops was hard to find where i live in those days. But beware: there is an Ushers white ale and an Ushers ruby ale too, but they don´t play in the same league.

This is one of my best experiences, only second to sex! What a bitter aroma and the flowers in the nose combined with all those fruity hops, excellent!

Sweet and malty, with fruitiness. Dry with a lot off aftertaste. Beatiful brownish colour.

Red-brown. Somewhat dry, nutty, well balanced and very complex. One of my very favourite ales.

1998 Vintage. Fruit, caramel and roasted malt aroma. Copper, with a large toffee head, continuous stream of bubbles like a sparkling wine, and pleasing lace. Robust nutty flavour, combined with malt, almonds, earthy too. Very much like a port, except for it's wonderfully bitter aftertaste. A terrific choice for #600! Thanks Michael of Chester's Beers Of The World.

Indeed full bodied. Very malty and rich in the flavor. There is fruit and hops in a successful balance. More than a thirst killer, this is to be enjoyed on its own while solving the great riddles of life.

'Un more classic. Deep exciting copper color. I loved its gentle head. When I saw it first time, aroma didn't matter. Lots of fruits, butter, malt, nuts, microns of chocolate and alcohol. If I were the beer, I'd be "Tawny Ale".
