| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 4, 2003 Beautiful deep dark color with some red tones, no head.
Malty cherryaroma. Roasted malt flavor. Absolutely dry beer, but maybe a bit thin. Some hidden apple fruitiness. Not as great as some raters might suggest, but still a good beer, worth a try. thewolf (5825), Kolding, Denmark

Pours deep opaque red-brown with a fine, creamy and rather fizzy off-white head. Sweet malty aroma with plums and quite a lot of spices. Fine, rather light mouthfeel. Flavour is nice, quite roasted, good sweet chocolate, fine hoppiness. Nice, dry finish. A very good bock, but not a touch on the La Trappe. jbrus (4895), Delft, Netherlands

And it was actually the only bock worth coming to Amsterdam. The others were average or underaverage. The aroma is rather spicy. Dark brown color, beige creamy head, very good lace. Sweet, full, roasted, chocolat and coffee, very soft. 11-28-98, 3.0: just an average bock.
