This amber ale poured with a fluffy off-white head that lasted a while. The flavor is malt and yeast with a strong dose of coriander, initially sweet with a bitter chalky finish. This is not a typical Christmas ale, but I guess the brewer thought that the spices made it so. Overall a decent, but not remarkable brew. thebeertourist (2822), Oslo, Norway

Sweet flavour with notes of orange. Rather full-bodied. A bit unbalanced, but highly drinkable. mabjork (580), Vasa, Finland

33cl bottle from The Pitfield Beer Shop. Sweet orange aroma with earthy notes. Cloudy amber body with a thick pillowy white head and lots of sediment. Well rounded plenty of yeast and citric notes. Slightly sweet but not overly so. Spicy finish. A bit one dimensional but ok overall. oh6gdx (9115), Vasa, Finland
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 30, 2005 Bottled. Hazy nutbrown colour with big foamy head. Aroma of alcohol with some weak fruity hints. Flavour is mainly yeasty with some fruity sweetness. Also some hints of nuts. Quite un-interesting. JK (2967), Richfield, Minnesota, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Dec 24, 2005 7% doesn’t seem very strong to me, perhaps this should simply be a Belgian ale. Has the standard aroma of Belgian ale. Some malt and very light fruit. There is some sediment but it settles fairly well. The beer gets more cloudy as you get closer to the end of the bottle. Huge cream colored foam and leaves a thick lace on the glass and lasts for hours. Flavor is substantially different from others of the style, being close to a light tripel. Light fruit flavors combine with malt and yeast. And that to a beer as heavily carbonated as this (the cork exploded out of the bottle, hit the ceiling, then the wall, but still there was explosion of beer. Well done.) and you have a delicate, lightly fruity, malty beverage that is surprisingly light and refreshing. bb (2941), Martinez, California, USA
