Sparkling clear, golden ale with a large, frothy, white head. Great retention and wispy, cirrus lacework. The nose is fruity and spicy. The flavor is sweet and fruity. Medium-bodied with a watery mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Short, sweet finish. A bit of a disappointment for me, but, by no means a less-than satisfactory beer.. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 28, 2004 Murky amber hue. Huge spectacular frothy white head, sticking to the glass, long-lasting. Spicy aroma with a ton of nuances at times approaching cloves, christmas cake, anise or ginger). Highly yeasty, minty, fruity (peaches, orange, apricot). Mild hop presence even. I love how this accomplishes a lot with low alcohol. Very fruity palate, almost vinous with apricot, melon and peach hints and close to as spicy as the nose. Very interesting mix, superbly tasy for 7%. Medium bodied, moderately high carbonation, almost foamy mouthfeel. Excellent execution imo, but there are better examples. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 12, 2004 Tasty beer that is much lighter than I expected, It’s actually golden. Slightly acidic/winey flavour, with spice, on top of a slightly sweet malt base, a little bitterness to finish it off. A dry alcohol burn on the tongue. hopdog (5617), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA
