Fairly light body and flavour with dried flowers, dusty yeast notes, creamy sweet pale malts and a splash of late lactic tartness. Well-made but ultimately a bit simple. (As Westy Blonde proves, a light abbey need not be simple). hopscotch (5549), Vero Beach, Florida, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jun 10, 2006 Bottle... Lightly hazy, yellow ale with a large, fizzy, white head. Grainy, fruity aroma. Notes of mash, banana and delicate spice. Mildly sweet, grainy flavor with sips of honey, straw and lemon. Tangy, but not tart. Barely medium-bodied and on the verge of being creamy with spritzy carbonation. Sweet, grassy finish. Very subtle in all aspects. Spendy brew at close to $10 per bottle. Not much bang for your buck... unless you are really into ’almost.’ Malakin (465), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 9, 2006 Very fizzy clear straw colored with a white head that stayed around for a while. Lots of sediment on the bottom. It’s spicy and a bit on the dry side. eaglefan538 (2405), Wilmington, Delaware, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 9, 2006 Poured a golden yellow color with a turbulent swirly cloud in the middle from the yeasties (I enjoy yeasties in my beer). The cloudy mess just sat there, didn’t mix around or anything, really cool "storm cloud" sitting there. The lacing was good. The aroma was a mix between a wit and a pilsner, some spices and floral notes over top of some grassiness. The flavor was solid, wheat-like base with some spices (cloves), some sweet fruity notes (apples, citrus), honey, and a nice dry and peppery hopped finish. Mouthfeel was dead on, light enough to refresh. dkoonce (899), People’s Republic of Athens, Ohio, USA

Aroma of spices and citrus. Flavor is citrus, fruit and carbonation. This is drinkable, but still a let down. hughie (3087), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 21, 2006 Dark golden with a big white head. Yeast and yacht varnish in the aroma. The taste has a fresh citrus bite and the beginnings of a bitter finish. Uncomplicated, easy drinking Belgian blonde.
