There is also a frothy and thick white head. Very tiny bubbles, as dense a head as I have seen from a non nitro beer. The aroma is some sweat scks with some lemons and a little bit of peaches. There is also some dry hay. The taste is dry with pears and some spicy cinnamon. There is also a little note of hay and some honey. A nicely done ale. Papsoe (15103), Frederiksberg, Denmark
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 29, 2005 (Bottle 33 cl) Slightly cloudy golden beer with a creamy, white head leaving some lacework. Marked yeasty aroma and some coriander up there too. Soft and lightly malty with a weak perfumy touch from the coriander. Only the slightest hint of hops in the finish. A very accessible and pleasant "Blonde" that hardly can offend anyone. On the other hand it’s not really very thrilling. 270905 Cable (286), SE, Oklahoma, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Sep 24, 2005 Sampled from bottle. Pours a cloudy gold with a thick, creamy white head and wonderful lacing. Aroma is delicate with bananas, citrus and mild spices. Masterfully balanced flavor with candy sugar, banana, plums and subtle, spicy hops all present. Full-bodied, but not viscous, moderately carbonated. The best part of this beer is catching a bit of the creamy head with each sip. The mouthfeel is incredible and this ale is way too eay to drink. MesandSim (5940), London, Greater London, England

Tap @ PBF. Not impressed at all really. Looks pretty crappy and the flavour followed suit. Standard blonde, little bit of cream, reasonably smooth, slight spice. Nothing complex about this one. It went down the drain. leaparsons (4748), Leicester, Leicestershire, England
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 23, 2005 Bottle. Golden with red tints and an off-white head. Aromas are sweet malts with a light roast character, chocolate, berries and yeast. Flavours are sweet malts with raisins, yeast and burnt brown sugar. Warming alcohol on finish. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jul 27, 2005 Bottle - best before 02/06. Poured a hazy golden color with a large amount of sediment... probably should have decanted this one. Low well-sustained white head. Very nice intricate white lacing as it went down. Aroma was primarily Belgian yeast and banana esters. Flavor followed the aroma quite well, but was a little sweeter. There was not a whole lotta complexity going on, though. Decent brew, but certainly not remarkable. chriso (4850), London, Greater London, England

A straightforward blonde ale. Reasonably fruity (mainly apple) and slightly yeasty. Smooth mouthfeel. No great depth of flavour but pleasant enough.

RE-RATE. March 2009. Draught at De Hopduvel, Gent as Hoppetje, a house beer. Think my Belgian tastes must have moved on as I found this rather dull, if not unpleasant. Clear gold. Touches of sweetish fruit. Nothing much happening really.
