durhambeer (538), Durham, USA Jul 2, 2008 Bottle. Not surprisingly, this was a light golden pour with a nice one finger white head that settles in to a nice gauzy top. A bit of yeast chunkage floating throughout, but otherwise relatively transparent. Bananas, ester, grape bubble gum, and some lemony tastes on the nose and palate, with a more doughy taste and light feel on the tongue. Nothing special about this beer, but it’s nice to have a sessionable Belgian.
looframp (6), , Netherlands does not count Oct 5, 2008 Excellent. I visited the brewery last year. Great taste, great history(anno1216). KyotoLefty (202), Kyoto, Japan Oct 5, 2008 Orange-gold color, tall foamy white head, lots of yeast got in. Fragrant aroma of sweet lemon tea! Very lemony, with tea, honey, fruits. Very inviting. Sweet-and-sour flavor, much again like sweet lemon tea. Citrus, honey, sour and bitter balance the sweetness well. Very interesting and very nice. A touch too sweet maybe, and lacking the clear, crisp bitterness and complexity of the better Belgian blonde ales.
Surprisingly good.
bhensonb (3017), Woodland, California, USA Aug 30, 2008 Bottle from Wine Specialist. Hazy gold color with a frothy white head. Smells like a light candi tripel with a lot of grassy hop and yeast. Medium body with creamy carbonation. Flavor is very light sweet candi, with some malt and spicy hop. Seems balanced between sweet and bitter. There’s a tangy flavor that extends into the finish. Really quite tasty in a simplistic way. Wish it could be delivered to my door each morning. Borresteijn (588), Amstelveen, Netherlands Aug 30, 2008 Bottle @ In de Wildeman. Golden blond beer, white head. Aroma of yeast, fruits, malts. Flavour is malty, yeasty, a bit sweet, slightly bitter finish. daniele (839), Italy Aug 18, 2008 chiara schiuma media media persistenza sentori floreali leggeri in bocca piuttosto fruttata leggera spezaitura non molto amara
