Pours a tranlucent brown color with a two finger thick off-white - light tan head. Aroma of belgian spices, yeast, citrus, fruit. Flavor is carbonated, fruity, malty, and sweet. Good healthy body, good brew.

(Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm) Colour is dark brown with a firm beige head. Somewhat closed nose, mainly dominated by malt: cereal, roasted grain, dark bread and some nutty notes. A lot more taste: sweet, nutty, fruity with dark cherries ... and maybe some black currant. Hints of chocolate and some sweet marzipan notes in the finish. A good quality beer, but can’t really match the best abbey dubbels.

Dark brown with a light brown color head. Smell is very sweet malt. Sour at first with a sweet caramel finish.

33 cl bottle. Clear and brown with a nice head. Aroma of a dark malt with a slight yeastyness. The flavor is rich and creamy with a slight tang. Not as complex as I thought it would be. But, the body is full and the finish is a definite abbey sour. Purchased at the Pit-Stop in Lancaster, Ohio

Almost clear deep copper under a creamy tan head and nice lace. Yeasty, somewhat sour aroma with a few notes of caramel. Medium body complemented by a lively carbonation. Sweet malt flavors of brown sugar and dark fruit. There is also an earthy, spicy, and sour character that balances the malt. A little bitterness comes through in a nicely lasting finish.

Beer pours a clear, dark brown color witha small, white, frothy, mostly and quickly diminishing head that leaves behind nice lacing on the glass. The aroma is heavily malty with notes of sweet toasted grain, caramel, milk chocolate and cookie; A trace of hop with a note of resin/pine; Moderately yeasty with notes of bread dough and damp basement; Light miscellaneous notes include traces of butterscotch, sherry and a light note of alcohol. The flavor is heavily sweet, moderately bitter with a long, lightly warm, lightly bitter, moderately sweet finish. The body is medium, the texture is watery-to-velvety and the carbonation is lively. This was always a favorite of mine before I started rating, glad to find that it is as nice as I remembered it.

This is the first time I have had this beer. Sampled from an 11.2 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with red highlights and a huge khaki head that lingers and produces copious lacing. This is really a very pretty beer. The aroma is sweet and bready with a moderate ripe dark fruit undertone. The flavor is strongly sour with ripe fruits and a hint of caramel and molasses. There is a bitter tangy finish.

Rich brown with a nice creamy feel. Tasted rich with malt and nuts as well as some fruit. finished well with a nice bitter hop
