A unique aroma. Has various elements, all which I have experienced in other beers, but never together. There’s a Belgian wheat element, a roasted malt, and a relatively high alcohol profile that is only identifyable at the back of the nose. Actually, now that I smell this again, I am getting some Abbaye Des Rocs Grand Cru in the nose, but without as much caramel. Dark, mahogany brown body, mostly clear with large slightly off-white head that lasts fairly well and leaves an excellent sloppy frothy, sheet lace. Has a little bit of a smoke thing going on in the palate. Somewhat oily. The flavor is where this brew fails to elevate itself. This tastes a lot like Altenmunster Steinbier, but significantly better. Warming and improves toward the end of the glass.

Aroma is like Vanilla. Medium head that dissipates slowly. Nice brown copper color. A hint of cinnamon. Smooth prunish chocolate tail. There is nothing bitter about this one. Very nice . Picked it up at Colonial Spirits in Acton, MA.

Pours brown with an off white head. Smells of apples and grapes. Tastes of sugar cane and raisins with some figgy elements. Watery finish.

Beautyful dark brown colour, with a white cloudy foam. Nose of dried fruit, vanilla and smoothness. Taste wonderfull one of my farites taste. Absolute a good beer.

Strong alcohol flavor with notes of coffee and chocolate. Decent, middle of the road dubbel.

Bottled. Clear red brown coloured with a solid and lacing beige head. Sweet aroma of malts, spices and yeast with fruity notes. Nice sweet and malty flavour with notes of spices, yeast and alcohol. Dry finish with yeasty notes.

Amber body with a bunch of floaties...almost "chunks". There was a bit of a burnt chocolate coming through on this one. Slightly sweet aroma.

Medium amber body with a thick frothing white head and lots of large floaties. Slight malts and caramel in both aroma and flavor. Smooth body with a slight sweet finish. Pretty standard brown/dubbel. I like the tripel much better.
