Has various elements, all which I have experienced in other beers, but never together. There’s a Belgian wheat element, a roasted malt, and a relatively high alcohol profile that is only identifyable at the back of the nose. Actually, now that I smell this again, I am getting some Abbaye Des Rocs Grand Cru in the nose, but without as much caramel. Dark, mahogany brown body, mostly clear with large slightly off-white head that lasts fairly well and leaves an excellent sloppy frothy, sheet lace. Has a little bit of a smoke thing going on in the palate. Somewhat oily. The flavor is where this brew fails to elevate itself. This tastes a lot like Altenmunster Steinbier, but significantly better. Warming and improves toward the end of the glass. fluids (364), USA

Slight malts and caramel in both aroma and flavor. Smooth body with a slight sweet finish. Pretty standard brown/dubbel. I like the tripel much better.
