What a great brew! This brewery is not bad. This brew pours a lovely dark dark brown almost black with a white white head. Smells much like the tripel from this brewery only with a much more caramelly sweet presence. Taste is excellent. Notes of currants, tobacco and chocolate. On the uptake it is very much like a regula belgian ale. On the back of the tongue post gulp it is much like a sweet stout. Good mouthfeel. Slighty watery but not too awful good brew Grat

After reading the bottle I thought this was just a Belgian brown ale. After sampling it and noting its yeasty aroma, and its medium body I knew it was something more. Enjoyed the slight yeasty aftertaste. This Abbey Dubbel was a smooth beer and could pass for a session beer (until you drank four of them).

A feast for the eyes; medium but steady creamy head over a dark amber, clear body. Complex aroma with malt, ripe fruit, coffee on a dry, spicy, wine-like background. Taste is obviously similar, but not quite as interesting. Warm, malty, with yeast and hazelnut. Some alcohol can be perceived in the finish. Overall a rather dry dubbel, which started very interesting but actaully bored me before I was through the (375ml) bottle. I’d put this one into the "good but could have been better" category.

Sadly, I let this 750ml bottle age for several months and found that it was probably not worth letting it take up the room in the cellar.
Poured with a robust amber/brown body and a nice kaki head. This ale left beautiful Brussels Lace all along the inner glass. The aroma was yeasty, beady, and noted with some toffee malts. Flavor was rather bland; more yeast, reminded me of a fresh loaf of wheat bread but with some suggestion of coconut. The palate was creamy and silky… I mean, it wasn’t a bad beer by anyone’s standards; the problem is that it’s just not a memorable beer either! Good Double, but soon forgotten.

330 ml bottle. Clear reddish-brown color with a HUGE tan head that lingers and leaves good lacing. Aroma is malty and yeasty with the lovely belgian spice notes. Flavor is sweet and yeasty, spicy with a dry finish. Body is medium full, smooth with a gentle carbonation.

Like most Abbey Dubbel’s this one is a pleasure to view in the glass. Big off white head sits atop an amber colored beer. Lots of lacing. Aroma is strongly malty, mostly resembling bread dough, also some obvious yeast, and a hint of prunes. Flavor lives up to the aroma. Nice sweet malty flavor with some yeastiness and a finish that seems to just kind of evaporate.

Brownish colour with a big beige head. Sweet and mild Belgian dubbel. Some dark fruits, pleasant malts, and a full/creamy body (medium carbonation). Not particularly interesting, but certainly very enjoyable.

Large tan head great retention and lace. Clear chestnut brown color. Spicey, yeasty nose with a hint of dark malts. Medium body, pleasent silkyness. Good malt flavors, fruity, slight nuttiness. Hints of vanilla and a touch of chocolate. Finish is medium dry. An easy drinkin 8%er.
