(0.75 l ceramic bottle, bottled at 12/06, at Pikkulintu, Helsinki) Dark reddish brown. Hazy. Malts and sweetness in nose. Full bodied and soft palate with medium carbonation. Malts, raisin, sweetness, black currant, hint of roastedness and some syrup in taste. Malts, sweetness and some roastedness in aftertaste.

33cl Bottle at Café de Paas. Clear dark brown beer with a red hue, creamy off-white to beige head. Aroma was a bit odd, musty, yeast, berries, some hops, alcohol, dry. Flavour is sweet, malty, dark fruits, brown sugar, but also with a nice underlying bitterness of hops and alcohol and even a hint of sourness. Medium to fullbodied.

Very dark brown with a touch of amber, medium head. Fruity, citrus aroma, lots of lemon, a lot like sweet lemon tea. But with more caramel, amber malts, a hint of chocolate maybe as well. Lots of chocolate and caramel flavor, sweet but not overly so, fruit, citrus mainly, but well balanced by dark malt richness. Very nice. Roasty, which adds a touch of bitterness, sour, sweet. A very interesting mix. Sweet, roasted, sour finish is original and nice. Hides its alcohol well, richer than the blonde.

750ml bottle - - Pikkulintu, Helsinki - - Ceramic bottle, bottled 12/06
Deep reddy brown, tiny head. Really sharp fruity berry aroma, blackberry or damson, walnut too. Very soft palate, a rich, full, sweet, and smooth body. Winey. Almost woody ageing. Decent hoppiness too. Covers the 8% well too. Great dubbel.

bomber from Total wine. MMM good ol belgian dubbels. So easy to drink! Brown pour, tan head. Aroma is sweet with dried fruit, candi sugar, syrup, honey and caramel. Flavor is full of fruit, raisins, vanilla, caramel, oak and is very good.

(Scrawled on the back of another unopened bank statement- try copy and pasting off that!).."Liquorice pour, ruby edges, tan collar becoming a slick. Metal, then striking sesame-edged nose with stouty roast touches, candi sugar, liquorice, banana esters. Soapy sweetness, bags more sesame, chiccory bitterness, liquorice, roasted barley. Some alcohol burn, mellow chocolate finish. Smooth distinctive sipper, sweetish, nutty and soapy with a dab of stout, Belgian-style. Soft and slick".
