Garrafa. Coloração âmbar escura, com creme bege consistente e persistente. Notas de café e torrefação. Final levemente amargo e seco, mas bem suave. Presença de sedimentos. Medianamente encorpada. Poderia ser mais... Álcool que se nota de leve.

Gekocht in de Ardennen. Dit is toch wel een heel lekkere bruine. Deze kan ik iedereen aanraden.

33cl bottle bought in Limburg (few kms from the abbey). Deep red ruby-black color beer with a thick creamy head. The aroma is very promising. Liquorice, chocolate and burnt coffee dominates with hints of citrus, toffee and strawberries. Salty, bitter, sour flavor. The palate is like the aroma but more subtle. In the beginning it feels a bit on the strong side but before you know it its gone and you’re left with a balanced dry fruity liquorice palate. Great beer!

33 cl. Dark brown with a good creamy white head. Sweet nuts, caramel & yeast in the aroma. Texture/body is super smooth & filling. Very nice lacings. Taste & aroma could be a bit rougher but still a nice double!

I had this on tap a few months ago, it was utterly fantastic. This rating is on the bottle that I had last night. Good, but not as great as tap. Pours very dense with a small brown head. Aroma is on the fig/malt/molasses side. The flavor is much as the aroma, nearly a liquid fig newton. Texture is where this was great, very thick, complex and a long lasting finish. Very good and very drinkable.

33 cL bottle. Pours dark brown with a dense and light brown head. Aroma is sweet, malty and yeasty spiced. Flavour starts sweet malty with a textured mouthfeel. A warming alcohol flavour and slight spiced note appears before the finish. Nice warming finish.

Dark brown with medium head. Aroma with yeast and toffee. Quite sickening flavor in an unbalanced and very sweet beer.

Good beer - rich dark colour, sweet, roasted taste, not overly complex but highly enjoyable
