Beautiful icing covers the glass. Aromas of dark bread, chocolate, raisin, nutmeg, vanilla, spicy rum cake and a hint of cherry. Similar complex of flavors are a tad less sweet than the aroma due to some nice stout-like coffee and char tones for bitterness. Medium-heavy body is smooth and a touch to the dry side. redlight (1485), Winter Park, Florida, USA

Color rich amber with a nice frothy white head. The first thought that comes to mind when drinking it is soft, this beer is so soft and smooth. Tastes sweet caramel malt. Vanilla, yeasty finish. Excellent beer! Redlight Redlight in winter park serves it in bottles. Storm (2685), Amager, Denmark

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Oct 1, 2004 Nice and dark with lofty crisp champagne head and a little cloudiness. Fresh green apple aroma with musky mature yeasts. Very smooth, mellow malts with a slight apple and prune zing. Carbonation is a matter of perfection. Very clean and very refreshing. Alcohol is not stated but the buzz is appreciated. No bitter quality. No alcohol acridity. No annoying hops. Just natural, liberated, fermented and thuroughly appeciated beer. Sampled from an 11.2 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with red highlights and a huge khaki head that lingers and produces copious lacing. This is really a very pretty beer. The aroma is sweet and bready with a moderate ripe dark fruit undertone. The flavor is strongly sour with ripe fruits and a hint of caramel and molasses. There is a bitter tangy finish. | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | May 12, 2005 A solid, solid dubbel. It is mild and deep at the same time, welcoming the drinker sip by sip by sip as its flavors unfold. An excellent beer for introducing "virgins" to the joys of Belgian beer--no harsh flavors but lots of subtlety. Bov (5455), Bienne, Switzerland
